On June 10, 2025, our client Mount Saint Mary’s University hosted a legislative staff briefing in Sacramento entitled “The Future of Work for Women: Representation, Innovation and Access” — and we were proud to help.
The briefing was co-hosted by Senator Ben Allen and Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, both of whom represent the district where Mount Saint Mary’s is located. The event brought together legislative members and staff for an hour-long presentation of findings from the university’s 15th Annual Report on the Status of Women and Girls in California, published by the Center for the Advancement of Women.
Now in its fifteenth year, the Report is the only comprehensive, data-driven analysis of its kind in the state — and has served as an essential resource for advocates, business leaders, and elected officials since 2011. This year’s edition takes a deep look at California’s post-pandemic workforce, examining where women are leading growth and innovation while identifying the persistent barriers that continue to limit professional advancement and economic opportunity. Key findings include ongoing gender earnings gaps, the significant economic contributions of women-owned businesses across the state, and shifting workforce demographics with major implications for state policy.
Presenting the findings were two of the report’s three authors: Dr. Breann Branch, Director of the Center for the Advancement of Women, and Dr. Krishauna Hines-Gaither, Vice President for Strategic Partnerships at Mount Saint Mary’s University. The presentation was followed by open discussion with members and staff.
We are proud to support Mount Saint Mary’s University and the Center for the Advancement of Women in bringing this important research to Sacramento.
